Yeah, that makes sense. I guess it would have been sufficient for me to get a notice upon joining the space, the list of channels that are autojoined, rather than a permanent marker. It depends a bit on how you see the role of the space admin. A permanent marker of an autojoined channel might convey the intend better that the space admin thinks it's really important for a user to stay in a certain channel and follow the threads?

I think it makes sense to keep one thread for time zone issues open, just in case. My feedback: I'm based on Tallinn, and the suggestion on my profile was Helsinki, although a Tallinn option exists that's close enough for me, because i have so far learned that depending on the ISP my IP range might be associated with either Tallinn, Helsinki, or Stockholm. i have a suspicion that the setting once set to Tallinn (yesterday i did that, i think) might have proposed again Helsinki, but i am not certain. will observe

For Slack communities everything is either A) historical, B) new and I haven't seen it yet, or C) I'm following it for new replies. So Slack Unreads view shows me all of B. And Threads view shows me all of C. Everything else that has conversation activity I have explicitly chosen not to follow unless I seek it out. I think that is close enough to what old school forums would be as well... Either I'm in the conversation or I've chosen not to follow it or it's a new conversation and I need to decide whether to follow or...
