Subject line

I really do enjoy services taking up the habit of mentioning themselves in notification emails, so a generic subject line:
“New topics in your inbox for 2024-11-05”
becomes
“[LIMINAL FORUM] New topics in your inbox for 2024-11-05”

it’s much easier to spot then relying on the sender address being displayed

Layout

The format of the digest email seems a bit off:

The blockquotes seem to be removed, so quoted text looks like a part of the reply

Plaintext

• the alternative text for the avatar probably can go away
• blockquotes are separated by a line, that makes sense. maybe even add the > from markdown? this might also be nicely highlighted as it’s a commonly used reply quote signal for emailing (or was that an Outlook-specific thing? not sure)
• otherwise plain text is pretty neatly formated. it’s getting too little love these days :D

I was on the fence over the weekend about adding a [Liminal] subject prefix, I think I’ll add that!

Thanks for the close attention to issues on the digest–I know this experience needs to be improved. My original thought was that I should just show an excerpt of the post in the digest, which is why it’s not preserving all the formatting. Do you think it would be better to show the full post?
